The Old Lady will be United's toughest task at this stage of the competition since the '90s.
Bookmakers have predicted tonight’s tie against Juventus will be the toughest home group game that Manchester United have played in the Champions League this century.
The Red Devils are touted as an 11/5 shot to claim the three points, as star man Cristiano Ronaldo potentially lines up against his former team.
That’s the biggest price United have been at home in the group stages of the UCL, with the Old Trafford side only being odds-against on two previous occasions.
United were 11/10 when they hosted Shakhtar back on 10th December 2013, courtesy of a Phil Jones goal in a 1-0 win.
The only other time United have been odds-against in the same circumstances was under the stewardship of Sir Alex Ferguson when they beat tonight’s opponents Juve 2-1 on 20th February 2003.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: “Even as Manchester United have struggled in the post-Fergie era, they have maintained a certain level of dominance at Old Trafford.
“That looks to have changed as well, with the Old Lady expected to pile more pressure on Jose Mourinho this evening, according to bookmakers.”
