57-year-old cut from 66/1 into 8/1 for the role at Kingsmeadow.
A local lad who went on to become a multiple-time Premier League manager is being heavily backed for a sensational homecoming to AFC Wimbledon.
Alan Pardew, who has been out of a job since leaving West Brom at the start of the year, has been slashed into as short as 7/1 for the vacancy after being as large as 66/1 a few days ago. A best price of 22/1 is available, however.
The former West Ham, Charlton and Reading boss has not managed as low as League One in this decade and could be considered something of a coup for the side sitting 23rd in the third tier.
Punters clearly think there are legs in this story, with THREE-QUARTERS of all bets today going on Pardew to join the club, well ahead of Paul Hurst, who has just 9% of total bets.
It would be an incredible return to football for Pardew, who may return to a London club for the first time since 2016 when he left Crystal Palace after two years and an FA Cup Final appearance.
Oddschecker Spokesman George Elek: “Alan Pardew is still a big name in English management and AFC Wimbledon have been linked with an audacious move for the 57-year-old, who is as short as 7/1 to move to Kingsmeadow. ‘Pards’ would certainly bring media attention onto League One, but some Dons fans may not think it would be the good kind!”
