We take a look at the crucial New Year matchups to see who Oddschecker users are backing.
Now we’re into 2019, we almost resume normality when it comes to the fixture list. But we’ve still got a whole round of fixtures to get through before the FA Cup Third Round!
Take a look at each of the games between now and Thursday night to find out who Oddschecker users are backing.
Bournemouth v Watford
The consensus is quite clear on this one: Punters are backing BOURNEMOUTH (28/17) to dispose of Watford at Dean Court. Eddie Howe’s men have lost nine of the last 11, whilst Watford have only lost in five. Despite this, 48% of punters have backed the Cherries, compared to 22% for the Hornets. 30% have gone for the draw.
Chelsea v Southampton
The Blues are usually strong at home, and punters can’t see an upset, with 65% of punters going for CHELSEA (3/10) to get the job done. They have beaten Southampton the last seven times they have played them, and the Saints are still looking over their shoulder, just one place above the bottom three. 17% have still backed them though, with 18% going for the draw.
Huddersfield v Burnley
David Wagner’s Terriers are in deep trouble, and punters don’t think it’ll get any better on Wednesday, with 65% backing BURNLEY (3/1) to win away from home. Huddersfield lost more Premier League games than anyone else in 2018 and just 12% are backing them to win here.
West Ham v Brighton
The Hammers are on a nice run of form having won five of their last seven, and despite being injury-hit, 55% are backing WEST HAM (21/20) to beat Brighton for the first time in seven years. 24% are backing Brighton, with 21% going for the draw.
Wolves v Crystal Palace
The Jekyll and Hyde of the division, WOLVES (11/10) are being backed to follow up on their Spurs win by beating Palace, with 58% backing the Old Gold. Palace haven’t scored in nine games this year, a Premier-League joint-high. They have 27% support at Molineux tonight.
Newcastle v Man Utd
The Ole Solskjaer revival is being well and truly backed by Oddschecker users, with a whopping 75% of all bets going on MAN UTD (4/6) to win at St James Park. This used to be a title decider, but Newcastle would just settle for a second-half goal, having scored just four all season in the league. 13% are backing Rafas boys, with 12% the draw.
Man City v Liverpool
A win at the Etihad could put LIVERPOOL (45/17) out of sight at the top of the league, and 49% of punters think it will happen. City may feel like they need to win, and 31% have backed the home side, in what is quite possibly the biggest game for the Reds in the 21st century.
