Nuno Espirito Santo’s side haven’t won the competition since 1960.
It has been a strong season for Wolverhampton Wanderers and they took another notable scalp by beating Liverpool in the FA Cup.
Over the last 24 hours, 27% of total outright bets have been placed on the Old Gold to win the competition - the most-backed team in that time frame.
It’s been 31 years since Wanderers tasted success at Wembley that was when they won the Football League Trophy, setting an unofficial record by taking 48,000 fans to the old Twin Towers.
Wolves are 16/1 to win the cup for the fifth time, putting them joint-sixth in the betting, behind the ‘Big Five’ still left in the draw.
Man City are 3/1 favourites and have Burnley at home in the fourth round, whilst Wanderers will play the winners of Shrewsbury v Stoke.
Oddschecker spokesman George Elek: “Regardless of the side Jürgen Klopp sent out last night at Molineux, Wolves still had to beat what was put in front of them – and did so with aplomb.
“That’s resulted in a flurry of bets on Nuno’s side to go all the way to Wembley and win the cup, with almost a third of all bets being placed on the West Midlands side.”
