Bookies think the Stoke City midfielder is likely to leave Stoke City for Scotland this window.
Bookies have slashed odds on the possibility of Charlie Adam returning to Scottish football with a move to Hearts. Having been priced at 6/1 last week, that price has tumbled as far as 2/1 with one bookie.
After spending over six years at Stoke and chalking up more than 150 appearances, the 33-year-old appears ready to move on after reportedly being told he is free to leave the club.
Having spent six years at Rangers before eventually moving to English football to play for Blackpool, Liverpool and finally Stoke, the midfielder has expressed his desire to return to Scotland.
A move back to Ibrox to play under former teammate Steven Gerrard could also be on the cards according to bookies, with Rangers priced at 5/2 to sign Adam.
Elsewhere in the market, League One Fleetwood Town are priced at 4/1. Meanwhile, if returning to former clubs is the suggested route, Blackpool are a long shot at 33/1.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: “Charlie Adam has struggled for playing time at Stoke over the past couple of seasons and didn’t cover himself in glory when his side were relegated to the Championship.”
“A return to Scotland seems sensible, especially given that Stoke’s next manager is likely to be looking for fresh talent to reverse their fortunes.”
