David Wagner has departed Huddersfield Town by mutual consent, and the Yorkshire side look set to turn to a familiar face in their bid to escape the drop.
Sam Allardyce has been installed as the 4/1 favourite to take charge of the Terriers, with the club currently eight points adrift of safety.
He’s as short as 5/4 in places, and we’ve seen 67% of bets go on the 64-year-old in the embryonic stages of the market.
Current temporary manager Mark Hudson is next in line at 5/1 for the role full-time, with Slavisa Jokanovic just below at 10/1, joined by a number of names at the same price.
Carlos Carvalhal, David Moyes and Alan Pardew are all 10/1, with the trio having experience of taking charge of a side near the bottom of the Top Flight.
Whoever does take charge won’t have it easy: If handed the job before the weekend, they’ll be up against Manchester City – With the Terriers 22/1 underdogs!
