Bookies have sensationally cut odds after a stream of bets on the move
Odds have been unanimously slashed on ex-Liverpool hero Philippe Coutinho joining Chelsea this January, following an abnormal amount of bets on the switch.
One bookmaker has cut the Brazilian’s odds from 50/1 into 5/1 to force a move to West London, with money continuing to be placed on the move.
The bets follow reports that Maurizio Sarri’s side have bid £101m for the Barcelona play-maker, with Blues talisman Eden Hazard’s future at Stamford Bridge uncertain.
In total, a whopping 81% of all bets on the Brazilian’s next club have been placed on Chelsea, attracting by far the lion’s share of the market.
Elsewhere, Napoli are also expected to be in the running to secure Coutinho’s signature, priced at 8/1 to sign him this January.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek said: “Coutinho’s move to Barcelona has not worked out as expected and, with former club Liverpool going from strength to strength since his departure, it's anyone's guess where he will end up next.
“The Hazard replacement line is an obvious one, but punters may be forgetting that Christian Pulisic will be arriving in west London in the summer.”
