All change in the race for the Premier League top four

All change in the race for the Premier League top four

A win for Man United and another loss for Spurs sees the Red Devils shorten in price.

Manchester United are now knocking on the door for the top four and another loss for Spurs sees United now evens to qualify for the Champions League, while the North Londoners have drifted to 1/3.

The odds-on price may sound short, but Mauricio Pochettino’s side were as short as 1/10 before tonight’s games and they are now just five points clear of Ole Solskjaer’s Red Devils, who are 6/5 best price (and were as big as 12/1 in December!)

Arsenal are not out of the race either and can be found at 23/10 best price after beating Bournemouth 5-1 at the Emirates.

It’s no surprise to see United being heavily backed given their remarkable form under their interim coach, and 67% of bets on the top four market since the full-time whistle have been on the red half of Manchester.

Elsewhere, Liverpool and Man City both won to keep the title race in the balance. Liverpool are 13/8 best price to end their drought, with City 8/15.

Oddschecker spokesman George Elek: “All of a sudden, Spurs will be looking over their shoulders. Their title challenge is well and truly gone, and they'll now need to solidify their place in the Champions League for next season. Next up? The small matter of a North London Derby…”
