North London draw sees Solskjaer's Man Utd revival march on.
Manchester United have been cut from 11/10 to odds-on at 10/11 to finish in the Premier League’s top four following Saturday’s action.
Just before the sacking of Jose Mourinho in December, they were 14/1 to achieve that feat.
There was late drama at Old Trafford as a brace from a resurgent Romelu Lukaku helped snatch a 3-2 victory over Southampton in Saturday’s fixture. That result sees United leapfrog Arsenal into fourth spot in the Premier League, just three points behind Spurs in third.
The North London Derby had earlier ended in a 1-1 draw as Arsenal missed a stoppage time penalty. That result saw the gunners’ top four odds drift from 17/10 to 2/1, while Spurs have been clipped back to 4/11.
Chelsea remain well in contention at 11/10, currently five points off United with two games in hand and a clash with struggling Fulham tomorrow.
Bookies had priced up predictions for Solskjaer’s stint as United boss back in December and the Norwegian is ticking them off already.
The 9/2 on offer for him to win his first five competitive matches in charge went with ease, while the then tempting 33/1 on offer for a bottom half finish now looks laughable.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: “Who would have thought we’d be describing Manchester United as looking the most likely to secure a top four spot at this stage.
“The turnaround in just over two months is remarkable, and Solskjaer is now at the helm of the most consistent side in this top four battle. Any fans that optimistically took that 14/1 in December will be feeling smug.”
