10/1 shot heavily backed to win Premier League Golden Boot

Four players now sit just one goal behind Sergio Aguero in the race for the Golden Boot.

Liverpool forward Sadio Mane (10/1) is being heavily backed to finish the season as the Premier League’s top goal scorer, accruing a massive 80.8% of bets on the market in the last 24 hours.

Cut from 20/1 to 10/1 over the weekend, the Senegalese international has caught the eye of punters with his electric form in front of goal.

That’s seen him move up to joint-second in the race for the Golden Boot, with a career-best 17 Premier League goals so far this campaign.

Having scored a brace in his side’s 3-1 victory over Bayern Munich in the Champions League mid-week, the 26-year-old followed up by scoring a goal and winning a penalty against Fulham on Sunday afternoon.

Establishing himself as indispensable to Jurgen Klopp, Mane has stepped up just as team-mate Mo Salah has suffered a dip in form, now equalling the Egyptian’s tally of 17 league goals.

Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero (13/8) leads the running for the Golden Boot with 18 goals, while Salah (10/3), Harry Kane (7/2) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (13/2) sit on 17 alongside Mane.

Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: "Mane has always been a streaky goal scorer, and this current run couldn't have come at a better time for Liverpool. With the other contenders searching for form or fitness, with the exception of Aguero, he looks to have a great chance of crashing the party."
