One of the darkest days in Scotland's footballing history as they lose 3-0 in Astana.
It’s terrible being Scottish. Surrounded by a multitude of Englishmen, I’ve just had to endure a 3-0 thrashing at the hands of a country that’s more famous for fermented horse milk than it is football.
And it gets worse. Prior to the match, Kazakhstan were a whopping 70/1 to beat the Tartan Army 3-0 at the Astana Arena.
Last night, Scotland were penned as odds-on favourites to win their first game of their Euro 2020 qualifier, at the best price of 19/20.
Punters finally saw sense and backed Kazakhstan at a best price of 31/10, which resulted in the ‘Hawks’ going off at 3/1, with Scotland going off odds-against at 21/20.
Prior to the match, 57% of all bets through Oddschecker had backed Alex McLeish’s side, 30% backed Kazakhstan and the remaining percentage were on the draw.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: “As an England fan I'm just disappointed that this result makes it unlikely that we will have our day at Hampden next June.
“San Marino haven't scored at home in their last 15 matches, could that change on Sunday?”
