Bookies have priced up some bizarre promotion party antics at Carrow Road.
Norwich City are flying at the top of the Championship table, now four points clear of nearest rivals Sheffield United and set to be promoted to the Premier League.
It’s only right then that plans should be falling into place for a raucous promotion party at the end of the season.
With Leeds United now five points adrift of Norwich in third, it’s looking less likely that Marcelo Bielsa will be being carried onto the Elland Road pitch on his famous bucket. Instead, it could be the Norwich boss that makes a spectacular entrance.
Canaries fans will be well aware that manager Daniel Farke has previous in this department from his time in Germany, hence the following chant…
“Farke’s on a horse, what a great team to support. We’ve got Leitner, Buendia and Rhodes, Teemu Pukki can’t stop scoring goals. The greatest in East Anglia, we’re going up.”
The song harks back to Farke’s time as boss of SV Lippstadt 08 in Germany. He was given the nickname ‘Winnetou’ by the club’s president due to his hairstyle, referring to a fictional Native American character.
Naturally, the German ended up riding onto the pitch on horseback during his farewell parade as a result.
Now SportNation say there’s a 16/1 chance that Farke will ride a horse on the pitch during his side’s promotion party at the end of this season!
