Odds on Jose Mourinho taking over as Celtic manager next season have been slashed from 14/1 to 2/1 over the weekend.
Sacked by Manchester United in December, the much-maligned Portuguese manager could find himself back in a job for next season as rumours that he has been offered the job at Celtic Park gather pace.
Punters have flocked to the market to back the 56-year-old, with 62% of bets on the market in the last 24 hours going his way.
Celtic secured their eighth consecutive league title with a 3-0 win over Aberdeen on Saturday, but reports suggest caretaker boss Neil Lennon may not be the club’s first choice as a permanent replacement for Brendan Rodgers.
Neil Lennon still tops the market as the odds-on favourite at 4/7, while Belgium boss Roberto Martinez has shortened to 7/1 behind Mourinho.
Elsewhere, Jose Mourinho is the 11/8 favourite to get the PSG job, as pressure continues to mount on Thomas Tuchel following another poor campaign in Europe.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: “Jose Mourinho has already won titles in England, Spain, Portugal and Italy so he may see Scotland as a chance to add another country to his CV.
“Celtic are just the profile of club the 56-year-old likes - dominant domestically, big stadium, lots of history - so despite the low quality of the league, there may just be something in this.”
