There could be a very familiar face taking over at the Liberty Stadium.
Club legend Leon Britton is the early 7/2 favourite to take over as Swansea City manager following the news that Graham Potter is in talks to join Brighton.
Britton established himself as a firm fan favourite during two spells at the club, in which he clocked up more than 500 appearances before retiring at the end of the 2017-18 season.
Now the 36-year-old is reportedly being considered for the role as manager having spent a short time in Paul Clement’s coaching staff back in 2017 and taking over as caretaker manager for two games following his sacking.
Current Swans boss Graham Potter has been heavily linked with the Brighton job ever since the recent sacking of Chris Hughton and it looks like the odds-on favourite is set to take on the role imminently.
Swansea finished 10th in the Championship this season, nine points off the play-off places.
Assistant manager Billy Reid is second favourite at 9/2, though he’s likely to join Potter at the Amex. Meanwhile, Barnsley boss Daniel Stendel is priced at 11/2 and Wales boss Ryan Giggs follows at 15/2.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: “Graham Potter will be a big loss to Swansea, and though Leon Britton would be a popular appointment with the fans in theory, whether it’s the right long-term solution remains to be seen.
“You only have to look at Manchester United’s changing fortunes since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was made permanent to realise this route can be a risky one.”
