The Reds are leading the way for two teammates according to bookies.
Liverpool are favourites to sign Memphis Depay and Nabil Fekir from Ligue 1 club Lyon. The former is as short as evens, while the latter is as short as 7/2.
Memphis Depay appeared to confirm his departure from Lyon earlier when posting a video of him walking to a rather conspicuous red private jet dressed in a fully red suit with the quote “Merci Lyon”.
The Dutch connection with Gini Wijnaldum and Virgil van Dijk has been touted as a possible factor in his decision and that’s not been missed by punters, with 80% of bets in the last 24 hours going on Anfield being his destination.
As a result, bookies have gone into overdrive, with his price of a move to Liverpool shortening from 10/3 as far as evens, at a best price of 11/10.
It’s déjà vu for Reds fans as Nabil Fekir is being heavily linked with a move to Anfield once more, priced as short as 7/2 in places, at a best price of 7/1.
The Champions League finalists apparently got close to signing the Frenchman last summer and after Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas told the press the 25-year-old will be allowed to leave the club, the rumours of a move to Liverpool have resurfaced.
Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek: “It’s likely to be one or the other, but with 19 league goals between them this season, either of this pair would be a welcome addition to the Liverpool attack.
“The Fekir deal got agonisingly close last summer and Liverpool fans were hopeful of an exciting replacement for Philippe Coutinho. They’ve hardly suffered having not signed him, but he looks a real talent.
“Meanwhile, Memphis has been flirting with fans on social media. He’s been in top form back in Ligue 1, but no one has forgotten his awful spell in Manchester.”
