The managerless Magpies are back to square one
Newcastle United are being touted for Premier League relegation following Rafa Benitez’s departure, with a flurry of bets being placed on the Tynesiders to face the drop.
Just last week, Newcastle were 15/2 for relegation, but that’s been cut to as short as 11/4 with some bookmakers.
In layman’s terms, that’s a 27% likelihood that the Magpies finish in the bottom three next season, according to the bookies.
That’s due to a stream of bets on Newcastle to be relegated, with 42% of all bets in the last 24 hours being placed on this grim possibility.
Elsewhere, new boys Sheffield United and Norwich are 4/5 and 21/20 respectively to make a swift return to the Championship, while Burnley and Brighton are next in line – both priced at 9/4.
