The PSG forward failed to turn up for training yesterday.
Neymar has now had his price cut into odds-on to join Barcelona this transfer window, following an official club statement by PSG last night (July 8).
Just five days ago, it was 11/10 that the Brazilian made the switch to his former team, although that’s now 8/11 best price.
Some bookmakers have taken further evasive action and cut his odds all the way into 1/3, which in layman’s terms, is a 75% chance of a return to Barca.
In regards to Neymar staying at PSG past this summer, it’s now even money (1/1) that he remains at Le Parc des Princes.
Elsewhere, Real Madrid are third favourites at a whopping 25/1, followed by both Manchester teams, with United 50/1 and City 66/1.
Reports are swirling that Barcelona have contacted the French perennial champions, with the Brazilian, reportedly allowed to leave if PSG’s fee is matched.
The Ligue 1 side released a statement claiming Neymar had failed to report for club training without permission, urging fans that the club would take “appropriate action”.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “Few will forget the deadly trio of Messi, Suarez, and Neymar in their pomp in the 14/15 season.
“Widely regarded as one of the most dangerous multi-faceted attacks in the game, Barca fans will rejoice that one of the Nou Camp’s favourites could be on the way back.”
