Diego Costa 91% likely to join Wolves according to bookies

89% of bets on his next club have gone on the West Midlands side.

The odds suggest Diego Costa is on the verge of completing a surprise move to Wolverhampton Wanderers, with the Spaniard priced as short as 1/10.

That’s an implied probability of 91% that the shock transfer goes ahead.

Bets have been flooding in ever since rumours began to circulate a few days ago, with 89% on the market in the last 24 hours going on Wolves being the rebellious striker’s next destination.

The 30-year-old is said to be looking for a move away from Atletico Madrid after the club broke the bank to sign Joao Felix and Alvaro Morata.

Meanwhile, it’s no secret that his infamous agent Jorge Mendes has close links with Wolves and the club’s owners.

Costa was never far from controversy during his spell in the Premier League, in which he established himself as a fan favourite at Chelsea.

His departure in 2017 was met with backlash from the Stamford Bridge faithful as Antonio Conte pushed him towards the exit door.

The Spaniard could now be on his way back to haunt the Blues as Wolves look to improve on their impressive seventh-placed finish.

Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: "Without speaking on the behalf of everyone, everyone wants to see Diego Costa back to his hijinks in the Premier League.

"Always exciting, never shy, Costa lit up the Premier League during his time with Chelsea.

"It looks as if fans of the Spaniard can rejoice, with an implied probability of 91% with one bookie that he joins Nuno Espirito Santo's side this summer."
