Odds slashed on Frank Lampard being the FIRST Premier League manager to leave

The Blues stalwart is now the second favourite to be the first managerial casualty

Bookmakers have slashed odds on Chelsea manager Frank Lampard being the first Premier League manager to leave their post, following his sides thrashing at Old Trafford.

Following the 4-0 humbling at the hands of United, Lampard has had his odds cut in half, from 20/1 into 10/1.

That’s due to an influx of bets on Chelsea’s all-time top goal scorer being shifted first, with 53% in the market over the last 24 hours backing Lampard.

That now makes him the second most likely boss to leave their respective side this season, only trailing Crystal Palace’s Roy Hodgson.

The Eagles boss is 5/1 clear favourite at the top of the market, with Lampard’s advisory yesterday, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, now the joint-second favourite alongside him at 10/1.

Watford’s hammering at home to Brighton has resulted in a nibble on Javi Gracia (11/) being the first to go, followed by Ralph Hassenhuttl (16/1) and Chris Wilder (16/1).

Elsewhere, Chelsea have drifted from 50/1 to 80/1 to win the title this year, whilst Manchester United, who were 66/1 pre-season, are now 33/1 best price.

Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “It wasn't quite the romantic Chelsea homecoming Frank Lampard would've hoped for, and his opening-day humiliation certainly hasn't gone unnoticed by the bookies.

"Lampard has plenty of credit in the bank with Blues fans, but if results continue going awry, how long can he ward off the trigger-happy suits upstairs?"
