Teemu Pukki cut from 100/1 into as short as 10/1 to win Golden Boot

One bookie has Pukki more likely than Alexandre Lacazette and on par with Sadio Mane

Norwich striker Teemu Pukki has had his odds slashed on being named the Premier League Golden Boot winner, after scoring a fantastic hat-trick in just his second Premier League appearance.

The Finnish hitman has been cut from 100/1 before the start of the season, all the way into as short as 10/1 with one major British bookie.

Elsewhere, Pukki is the best price of 33/1, which puts him on a par with Man City's Gabriel Jesus for the award.

That’s due to a fruitful return in his opening two games in England’s top division, scoring one against Liverpool and three against Newcastle at the weekend.

A wave of bets have been placed on the frontman winning the top individual award, with a whopping 53% of all bets placed in the market over the last 24 hours backing him.

That’s ahead of plenty of established Premier League stars, with Sadio Mane the next most popular with 12% of all bets, followed by Raheem Sterling, who has accumulated 9% of all bets.

Elsewhere, the crème de la crème of the Premier League top the market in terms of price, with Harry Kane (7/2) leading the market.

Another ex-Golden Boot winner in the shape of Mohamed Salah is the second favourite at 11/2, followed by Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (11/2) and Raheem Sterling (6/1).

Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “After filling his boots against Steve Bruce's hapless Newcastle, it's unsurprising that punters - and Fantasy Football managers - are flocking towards Pukki.

"The Finnish dynamo fired Norwich to promotion last season, and his goals will be crucial for the Canaries' already growing survival hopes this time around."
