THIN ICE: Javi Gracia new favourite to be next Premier League manager sacked

Watford have lost all three of their opening games and the pressure is firmly on.

With Watford currently propping up the Premier League table on zero points, Javi Gracia is the new favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave their post.

Priced at 6/1 before the weekend, the Spaniard is now as short as 5/4 to be the next to get the chop.

The Hornets have lost all three of their opening Premier League games, culminating in a dismal 3-1 home defeat to West Ham on Saturday.

Currently sat bottom of the table on zero points, Watford have now extended their record in all competitions to seven losses on the bounce.

Gracia was hailed as one of the most exciting new managers in the league last season, despite his side only managing to finish in 11th. However, the disappointing end to that campaign compounded with a lacklustre start to 2019/20 has resulted in huge pressure on the Watford boss.

Previous favourite Steve Bruce has seen his price drift out to a much rosier 8/1 following Newcastle’s shock win away at Spurs on Sunday afternoon.

The two sides will face each other next in the Premier League on Saturday, in what will be a crucial match for both managers.

Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “Watford’s incredible run to the final of the FA Cup last season went some way to brushing underperformance in the latter part of the season under the carpet.

“However, since that 6-0 drubbing at the hands of Man City, Gracia’s side have failed to find any form whatsoever. They will need to drag themselves off nil point against Newcastle on Saturday for him to have any hope of keeping his job.”
