36% of all bets in the last 24 hours have backed the Foxes boss
Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers is the clear new favourite to take over from Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham, after beating him this weekend.
A spate of bets have been placed on the Northern Irishman taking control at White Hart Lane after Pochettino, sending his price in the market crashing.
Just three days ago, Rodgers was 8/1 to succeed the Argentine at the North London club, although that’s been slashed into 7/2, making him the clear favourite.
Around 36% of all bets in the last 24 hours have backed Rodgers to taking over from Pochettino, making him by far the most backed in the market.
That means he overtakes previous favourite, Jose Mourinho, whose odds have slid from 3/1 out to 9/2.
Elsewhere, Massimiliano Allegri chimes in as the third favourite for the job, followed by Englishman Eddie Howe.
Former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique follows next at 9/1, followed by Rafa Benitez (10/1), Thomas Tuchel (16/1), Diego Simeone (33/1) and Carlo Ancelotti (33/1).
Pochettino (10/1) is now the third favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave his post, now ahead of the likes of Steve Bruce (16/1).
Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat to Leicester on Saturday has resulted in a slight dip in their odds for various Premier League markets, drifting from 33/1 out to 75/1 to win the league.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “Heading into Pochettino’s sixth season at Spurs, coming fresh from the Champions League final and actually making some worthwhile additions to a severely depleted squad – few would expect the Argentine to be under this much pressure just six games into the season.
“But it appears that he is, and punters think that Brendan Rodgers could be the man to take over from him if he does decide to leave.
“Rodgers’ Foxes side have been cut from 18/1 pre-season into just 5/1 to finish with a Champions League place, exemplifying exactly how good a job he’s doing at the King Power Stadium. This is definitely one to keep an eye on.”
