Odds SLASHED for Henrik Larsson to become Southend United manager

Can the Swede save the struggling Shrimpers?

Former-Celtic, Barcelona and Manchester United star Henrik Larsson has been cut into 4/11 to become the new manager of floundering Southend United.

The Essex outfit find themselves sitting third-bottom of League One, having lost seven of their opening nine matches.

Previous boss Kevin Bond lasted just 15 matches, and should Larsson get the gig at Roots Hall, he’ll be hoping for a longer, and more successful, tenure.

A whopping 81% of all bets in this market have been placed on Larsson, and considering he was present at Southend’s last fixture—a 1-0 victory away at MK Dons—punters have seemingly made their minds up.

Current caretaker manager Gary Waddock is second-favourite for the permanent job at 9/2, while former-Bolton boss Phil Parkinson is way out at 14/1.

Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “It’s been a disastrous start to the season for Southend, but the Shrimpers are still just two points from safety at this early stage of the season.
