Liverpool now odds-on favourites to win the Premier League

Jürgen Klopp’s men are clear favourites for the first time with over 20 bookies

British bookmakers have unanimously slashed odds on Liverpool winning the league, with Jurgen Klopp’s side now favourite with bookmakers to win the Premier League for the first time.

The Reds added their eighth straight league win in as many games this year, prompting bookies to cut odds from 6/5 into 8/11.

That means reigning champions Manchester City have slipped down the pecking order, drifting from 8/15 out to the best price of 6/4.

There’s a new third favourite in the mix, although well out of the race according to bookies, with Arsenal leapfrogging Spurs and Chelsea, however, are priced at 125/1 to topple City and Liverpool’s stranglehold at the top of the table.

Punters are piling into Liverpool to win the league, with a whopping 74% of all bets in the last 24 hours backing the Reds.

In comparison, just 18% of all bets in the market are backing City, with the remaining bets spread over Chelsea (6%) and Arsenal (2%).

Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “The mood in Manchester at the moment is a solemn one, with the red half more likely to be relegated (125/1) than win the league (750/1) and the blue half dropping points for the third time already this season.

“Although all is rosy on Merseyside, with Liverpool continuing to go from strength to strength, and rewarding the 54% of punters who backed them to win the league in the pre-season.

"Despite City being favourites pre-season, Liverpool gathered far more attention from Oddschcecker punters, who will be watching the title race with great interest."

Premier League winner:
Liverpool - 8/11
Man City - 6/4
Arsenal - 125/1
Chelsea - 150/1
Spurs - 200/1
Leicester - 400/1
