Bookmakers have cut odds on Rangers winning the Scottish Premiership this season, following Celtic’s defeat to Livingston and Rangers win at home to Hamilton.
It’s almost neck-and-neck at the top of the winner market, with Celtic hanging on incrementally to their favouritism tag, now priced at 4/6 to win the league.
Rangers, in turn, have been cut from 21/10 before the season started into as short as 6/5, indicating a 45.5% implied chance of ending Celtic’s reign over domestic Scottish football.
That’s due to recent results, and a wave of bets placed by UK punters, with Rangers attracting 48% of all bets over the last seven days.
Celtic, on the other hand, have only received 34% of bets on the eventual winner, as money continues to pour in on Rangers storming the league.
The other big market mover is high-flying Motherwell, who have been cut from 1000/1 into 100/1 with Paddy Power.
However, Sky Bet are still offering a whopping 1,500/1 on Steven Robinson’s men, who currently sit promisingly in third place.
Aberdeen are third favourites search of the title at 250/1, although have only received 4% of bets in the same time period.
It’s not just the league title Rangers and Celtic are battling it out over, with Jermain Defoe and Odsonne Edouard going toe-to-toe over the top scorer gong.
Defoe is the clear favourite in the race at 13/8, with Edouard hunting the hitman down, now priced at 4/1 to win the honour.
