Brendan Rodgers re-ignites the spirit of the Foxes’ 5,000/1 title triumph.
Leicester City are the subject of a betting frenzy to win the Premier League again, but this time at a lot shorter odds than 5,000/1.
The Foxes have been cut from 500/1 pre-season into as short as 50/1 with eight different bookies, with one firm going even more cautious at just 35/1.
Only one bookie is taking a chance with longer odds on Leicester, with Marathon Bet remaining 150/1 best price.
That’s due to a high influx of bets before and after the Southampton 9-0 rout, with 55% of all bets on the Premier League outright over the last week backing Leicester.
Furthermore, the weight of money is backing the Foxes, with 84% of all stakes in the last 24 hours and 43% in the last week all backing Brendan Rodgers’ side.
In turn, that means Leicester are now firm third favourites for the title, only trailing Liverpool (17/20) and Manchester City (27/20) in the race for the league.
They’ve been smashed in to finish in the top four also, with bookies cutting odds from 20/1 into just 6/4 to be playing Champions League football next year.
Leicester's 9-0 rout at Southampton last time saw them overtake league leaders Liverpool for goals scored (25) at the weekend, while a clean sheet means no side has conceded fewer goals in the Premier League (8).
The Foxes boast by far the best chance conversion rate in the top-flight (17.5 per cent) and are also averaging more tackles per game (22.5) than any other team in the division, which has seen their WhoScored.com statistical team rating (7.04) leapfrog Liverpool into second, behind champions Manchester City.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “Now developing the kind of momentum we saw under Claudio Ranieri during their rampant Premier League title-winning season, it's little surprise punters are piling into the Brendan Rodgers' iteration of the Foxes for another dose of glory.
"Liverpool and Manchester City still look king, so another Leicester triumph looks wholly unlikely; but that is also what people said in 2015..."
