The ex-Gunners boss has overtaken his old rival Jose Mourinho
A spate of bets placed over the last hour on Arsene Wenger to become the next Bayern Munich boss have seen him cut to the odds-on favourite to take over.
Over the last hour, 55% of all bets on Niko Kovac’s successor have been placed on the professor Wenger, resulting in his odds tumbling.
Wenger’s odds have been slashed from a whopping 25/1 all the way into as short as 1/2, although one bookmaker is offering 1/1 best price.
Of all bookmakers offering a market, Wenger is the standout favourite across the nine British bookies offering odds.
That means he’s now overtaken his long-time nemesis, Jose Mourinho, at the zenith of the market, with Mourinho drifting out to 5/1.
Italian manager Massimilano Allegri is the third favourite in the running at 8/1, followed by Hansi Flick (14/1) and Ajax boss Erik ten Hag (14/1).
Wenger has been out of work since 2018 after his 22-year stay at the Gunners came to an end, but the 70-year-old has shown no intention of hanging up his ankle-length coat just yet.
