Unai out: Odds slashed on Arsenal boss being first Premier League manager to leave
Arsenal manager Unai Emery has had his odds slashed into third favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave, following his side’s 1-1 draw in Portugal.
Emery’s odds to be the next Prem boss to go have been cut from 25/1 just two weeks ago, into 4/1 best price. He's as short as 5/2 with one bookmaker.
That’s because he’s the most popular punt in the market, with a whopping 65% of bets in the last 24 hours, with the second most backed, Ralph Hasenhuttl, only attracting 12%.
The money are also heavily on Emery to be booted, with 93% of stakes backing the Spaniard to be relieved of his duties.
Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl remains favourite in the sack race at 11/4 best price, followed by under-pressure Everton manager Marco Silva at 3/1.
Odds continue to drift on Manchester United gaffer Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has lengthened from 2/1 all the way out to 12/1 fourth favourite.
Leading football stats providers, WhoScored.com, revealed that no team has committed more errors leading to an opposition goal than Arsenal (14) in Europe's top five leagues since the start of the 2018/19 season.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: "Arsenal might be all-but qualified for the knockout stages of the Europa League, but their dire performance against Vitória on Wednesday has only served to pile yet more pressure on Unai Emery.
"The beleaguered Spaniard is rapidly losing Gunners fans' backing and a defeat at Leicester on Saturday could prove the final nail in his coffin."
