David Moyes odds-on favourite to take over as Marco Silva teeters on brink

There’s a 97% chance that Silva is the next Premier League manager to leave

Everton legend David Moyes is the clear favourite to take over as next Toffees boss, following reports Marco Silva will be sacked today.

The Scotsman is 3/10 best price to take over at Goodison Park, having been 4/1 yesterday for a short period of time.

That’s due to the second favourite in the market, Marcelo Gallardo, who was at the top of the market yesterday, but has now drifted out to 9/1.

Eddie Howe is the next most popular with punters at 10/1, followed by former Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez at 16/1.

Moyes is comfortably the punters’ pick as well, attracting 34% of all bets in the last 24 hours, and 18% of punts over the last week.

Looking at the next Premier League manager to leave market, Marco Silva is 1/33 to leave next, with his sacking reportedly imminent.

Football stat gurus WhoScored.com revealed that only Watford (5.1%) have a worse conversion rate than Everton (7.4%) in the Premier League this season.

Everton also have a third-worst WhoScored rating (6.61) in the Premier League this season.

Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “It’s surely only a matter of time before the Everton hierarchy get rid of struggling Silva, with the writing surely on the wall.

“It’s a familiar face in David Moyes that’s the heavy favourite to return to Goodison, where he spent nine years in the dugout.”

Next Everton manager:
David Moyes - 3/10
Marcelo Gallardo - 9/1
Eddie Howe - 10/1
Rafa Benitez - 16/1
