Liverpool Invincibles? Bookmakers slash odds on Jurgen Klopp's side going the season unbeaten

Can the Redmen replicate the 2003/04 Gunners?

Bookmakers have cut odds on Liverpool finishing the Premier League season unbeaten, following their sensational start to the season.

Before the season started, the Reds were priced at 66/1 to go the full campaign without defeat, although that price has absolutely disappeared.

Bookies cut odds into 28/1 by the end of September, and then further again to 20/1 by the end of October.

However, a combination of Liverpool continuing to not lose and a spate of bets on the invincible season coming to fruition – it’s now just 14/1 that Liverpool ends the season unbeaten.

A number of firms have cut odds even further, with two bookies pricing it up as short as 7/1.

In layman's terms, that means bookmakers think there's a 12.5% chance of finishing as invincibles.

Football stat gurus WhoScored.com revealed that at their current points per game record, they'd be on course to win 108 points, which would be a Premier League record.

Elsewhere, Liverpool are now strong odds-on favourites to win their first-ever Premier League title, now priced at 1/6 to get over the line.

Man City have slid out to 8/1 second-favourites, followed by Leicester at 16/1. There’s then a huge drop off to Chelsea, who are 250/1 to win the league.

Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: "It's been done before. Can it be done again?

"There's a very real possibility that this outstanding Liverpool side, having already conquered Europe, can end the Premier League season as Invincibles.

"There's a good argument to be made that Jürgen Klopp's men are a stronger side than the famous unbeaten Arsenal side, but it just takes one poor showing for their dreams to be dashed..."
