Zlat is back: Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is odds-on to join Everton amidst Carlo Ancelotti rumours

Will he conquer Merseyside?

Everton have been installed as the clear favourites to sign Zlatan Ibrahimović, as Carlo Ancelotti looks set to take over at Goodison Park.

One bookmaker, in fact, has cut odds from 6/5 into 10/11 today, making them by far the most likely destination for the Swedish striker.

The best price of 11/10 is available with one firm, although all bookmakers offering odds have Everton as the clear favourites.

Elsewhere, AC Milan are hot on the tails of Everton, priced at 7/4 to sign the striker in January.

If you don’t think Ibrahimović moves anywhere this January, its 4/1 that he does not join a new club after the January window slams shut.

Serie A side Bologna are next in the market at 10/1, followed by Napoli (12/1) and any Chinese Super League side at 16/1.

Tottenham Hotspur come next at 20/1, alongside another Serie A side in Roma at the same price.

Football stat gurus WhoScored.com revealed that no player has scored more headed goals than Ibrahimović (14) in the last two MLS seasons.

Everton have scored the second most headed goals (8) in the Premier League this season.

Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “Zlatan is never out of the news for long, although it makes the reports of a potential move to Everton no less eyebrow-raising.

“The big Swede and Ancelotti have previously worked together at PSG, so there is a degree of familiarity, but whether Everton have the financial clout to pull off this coup is another story.”
