55% of all bets in the last hour have backed the Gunners
A flurry of bets have been placed on Arsenal finishing in the top four, following the appointment of Mikel Arteta.
Since the appointment was made official 55% of all bets in the top four markets have backed the Gunners.
That’s resulted in a number of bookies cutting odds from 25/1 into 20/1, with one firm on the Oddschecker grids going all the way into 16/1.
Elsewhere, Arsenal’s odds of a top-half finish have been cut from 1/5 into 1/7.
At the other end of the spectrum, bookies are offering wildly different prices for the Gunners to go down.
Arsenal are best price 80/1 to end their inclusion in the Premier League, although are unbelievably as short as 40/1 with some firms.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “As Arsenal swap one shiny-haired Spaniard for another, fans will be praying the newest iteration will bring about a change in fortunes on the pitch.
“The Gunners' season has been nothing short of pitiful, although its clear punters believe the expertise Mikel Arteta has gleaned from Pep Guardiola will see their side push back up towards the Champions League places.”
