Bookmakers have cut odds on Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud signing for Aston Villa, amidst transfer rumours in the press.
Villa were 20/1 to sign the Frenchman a couple of days ago, cut to 9/1 yesterday and can now be found as short as 2/1. A couple of bookies remain at a best price of 5/1 on him making the move.
Giroud has only made seven appearances this season, scoring once in Chelsea’s UEFA Super Cup defeat to Liverpool.
The former Arsenal man bagged 33 goals and 10 assists in 45 appearances for Chelsea last season.
With a fine run of scoring form for the national team in the Euro 2020 qualifiers, he also recently became France’s third-highest goalscorer of all time.
Crystal Palace are second in the market to sign the 33-year-old, as short as 7/2, but at a best price of 6/1.
