Aarons has completed 26 successful dribbles in the Premier League this season.
Tottenham Hotspur have been cut into odds-on favourites to sign Norwich youngster Max Aarons, with a January transfer looking likely.
A number of UK firms have cut odds from 3/1 into 1/2 and as short as 1/6, with a flurry of bets being placed on Jose Mourinho’s side capturing the highly sought-after defender.
That’s due to both a plethora of press reports linking the North London side with the Englishman and a high percentage of bets being placed on Spurs getting him.
In the last 24 hours, 62% of all bets in Aarons’ next club market have backed Spurs, with money continuing to be placed on the prospective move.
There’s a huge drop off to the next most likely teams in the market, with North London, rivals Arsenal considerably behind at the bookies, priced at 33/1.
That’s the same price as the other contender in the market, West Ham, who are also 33/1 to bring the defender in before the January window slams shut.
WhoScored.com revealed that only Newcastle (8) and Sheffield United (7) have committed more errors leading to an opposition goal than Tottenham (6) in the Premier League this season.
Tottenham have also kept the fewest clean sheets (2) in the Premier League.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “Full-back has been a huge problem area for Spurs this season, and it appears Norwich youngster Max Aarons is the man to cure Jose Mourinho's right-back headache.
“The painfully inconsistent Serge Aurier cannot be counted on for a full Premier League campaign, but will the frugal Daniel Levy be prepared to stump up the cash for the 20-year-old?”
