Mauricio Pochettino cut into odds-on to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Norwegian favourite to leave

Poch is as short as 4/6 to take over at Old Trafford

British bookmakers have unanimously cut odds on Mauricio Pochettino taking over at Manchester United, following last night’s 3-1 defeat in the derby.

Odds have been cut from 11/10 into as short as 4/6 on the former-Spurs boss replacing under pressure Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford.

That’s due to mounting pressure on the Norwegian manager and a flurry of bets on Pochettino taking control of the Red Devils. Meanwhile, Solskjaer is also the 9/4 favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave their post

In the last 24 hours, a whopping 73% of all bets have back the Argentinian boss to be the one to replace Solskjaer.

Pochettino really is the only manager in the market attracting any kind of punting attention, with second favourite Massimiliano Allegri as long as 10/1 for the job.

Head of sport and development at Red Bull GmbH, Ralph Ralphnick, is the current third favourite for the hot seat, priced at 14/1 to take over.

Then comes Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers (16/1), Laurent Blanc (20/1), Erik ten Hag (20/1), Michael Carrick (20/1) and Chris Wilder (22/1).

Football stats site WhoScored.com revealed that Pochettino has only won one of seven matches as a manager at Old Trafford, that incidentally is his most recent match there (3-0 on August 17th 2018).

Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “The pockets of supporters who remain behind Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United are rapidly dissipating, and it's only a matter of time until the Norwegian oversees one poor result too many.

"Mauricio Pochettino's unemployed spectre won't be disappearing any time soon, and it's hardly surprising the infinitely more qualified Argentine is being heavily backed to take over the Red Devils."
