Two UK bookies have now made United favourites…
A number of bookmakers have cut odds on Manchester United signing Edinson Cavani this January, with two major firms now making him favourite.
With those two firms, odds have been cut from 10/1 into 7/5, making United the clear favourite.
The best price of 4/1 is still available with one bookie, although punters are punting on the move happening.
Since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed that Marcus Rashford is set for an extended spell on the side-lines, 58% of all bets on Cavani’s next cub have backed United.
That’s resulted in previous favourites, Atletico Madrid, slipping to second-favourites in the market, sliding to 2/1 with both Betfair and Paddy Power.
Elsewhere, Spurs are distant third favourites at 16/1, followed by MLS club or any Chinese Super League club at 20/1.
Leading football stats site, WhoScored.com, revealed that Cavani is PSG's all-time record goalscorer with 198 goals.
And he's only registered 330 minutes of league action, but his two goals would make him sixth-highest league scorer this season.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “Manchester United needed a striker before Marcus Rashford's injury; they really need a striker now.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would appreciate all the help he can get considering his struggles from the dugout, and the experienced Cavani has proven himself as a reliable goalscorer at the elite European level.”
