David Moyes most backed manager to be SACKED despite joining a month ago

He's only had six games in charge at West Ham so far…

David Moyes is the most popular bet among punters on who will be the next Premier League manager to leave, following a dismal start to his return to West Ham.

In the last 24 hours, 38% of all bets on the next boss to exit the league have backed the Scottish manager, prompting bookmakers to cut odds.

A number of UK firms have cut odds from 40/1 into just 12/1 that Moyes is the next to bite the bullet.

One firm is still offering a strong best price of 33/1.

Elsewhere at the top of the market, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the clear favourite to be the next to go, priced at just 5/4.

However, struggling Eddie Howe is hot on his heels in second favourite, priced at 4/1 to leave before the rest of his managerial cohorts.

Aston Villa gaffer Dean Smith follows next in the market at 10/1, followed by ‘no manager to leave’, which has been cut to 11/1.

There’s a rather large price differential on Daniel Farke, rock bottom of the Premier League, with the German as short as 9/1 and as long as 25/1.

Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson said: “It's fair to say punters aren't convinced that David Moyes is the man to turn around West Ham's fortunes.

“However, Moyes' first appointment was also met by vitriol, only for the Scotsman to complete a relatively sound job - will he defy the naysayers again?”
