The Portuguese star is rumoured to be part of a deal to bring Rodrigo to Barcelona
Bookmakers have slashed odds on Bruno Fernandes joining Valencia this month, with Barcelona entering the market as short as 10/11 in places.
This movement comes as rumours continue to gather pace suggesting Barcelona will sign the player and loan him straight out to Valencia. The Catalan giants are a best price of 4/1 in the market, with one bookmaker sticking by their price.
Fernandes would supposedly then be used as a makeweight for Valencia striker Rodrigo heading to the Nou Camp.
Manchester United have been heavily linked with Bruno Fernandes since the summer, and had shortened as far as 1/20 to sign the Sporting CP captain before the January window slams shut.
However, since the Barcelona and Valencia news broke, the Red Devils have drifted to a best price of 5/6, with that price set to only get bigger.
The 25-year-old midfielder has scored eight goals and bagged seven assists in his 17 appearances for Sporting so far this season.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “This Barcelona, Valencia, Bruno Fernandes love triangle has taken plenty by surprise this morning, but the rumours have taken off and rocked this already popular betting market.
“Having missed out on Erling Haaland and watched him take the Bundesliga by storm, it looks like Man Utd fans could be staring down the barrel of another heart-breaking near miss in the transfer market.”
