Will the potential new owners go to Toon in the transfer market?
Bookmakers have slashed odds on Newcastle United spending at least £100m in the upcoming transfer window, with reports a takeover is imminent.
Over the last week, odds have been cut from 5/1 into 5/2 that the Tyneside club splashes the cash this summer.
Punters have been backing the club to take a war chest into the transfer window, with Newcastle’s odds shortening on a number of players joining the club.
Newcastle fans will be delighted to hear that Aston Villa midfielder, John McGinn, is a short price to join the club this summer at 11/4.
That’s the same price as ex-Toon striker Salomon Rondon (11/4).
A top midfielder is next in the bookies’ list to join, with Arturo Vidal priced at 5/1 to head to St James Park.
Controversial but talented Rangers striker and Colombian international Alfredo Morelos is 11/2 to join the side.
Believe it or not, it’s now just 6/1 that Gareth Bale is playing in black and white stripes next season, with Edinson Cavani the same price.
Timo Werner is 9/1 to join the club, as is James Rodriguez, and Celtic striker Odsonne Eduoard is 10/1 to make the switch to the Premier League.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “It seems like Newcastle are preparing to unleash a frenzy of spending on this summer's transfer market, due to their newfound foreign wealth.
"The Magpies, who have long been perennial underachievers, will be hoping to follow the financially-plowed path forged by Manchester City, which entails buying lots and lots of expensive assets - who can help the side start competing for more prestigious prizes."
