The bookies have just released their odds...
Birmingham City player Craig Gardner has been installed as the early favourite to be named as next manager of the club, following the sacking of Pep Clotet.
The central midfielder is currently clear 5/2 favourite, following the release of the market.
Former Blues boss Chris Hughton is favourite with one bookmaker at 4/1, but 8/1 elsewhere. He's followed by ex-Fulham manager Slasiva Jokanovic at 6/1.
Nigel Adkins is around the top of the market at 7/1, followed by Mark Robins at 8/1 and former Stoke City boss, Tony Pulis is 9/1.
There’s a group of Lee Bowyer (10/1), Neil Warnock (12/1), Aitor Karanka (12/1) and Alan Pardew (14/1) following next, all experienced in the Championship.
Stephen Robinson guided Motherwell to European football this season with a third-place finish, and is the same price as Pardew at 14/1.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “Pep Clotet's departure as Blues boss has come has somewhat of a surprise, although it's fair to say the Spaniard divided opinion amongst the St. Andrew's faithful.
“While current player Craig Gardner is the bookies' favourite, seeing names like Chris Hughton and Slavisa Jokanovic next in the market, two managers with brilliant track records in the second-tier, will surely be of much greater interest to the fans.”
