The Havertz to Chelsea saga continues today as bookmakers have cut odds to as short as evens for the German to make the move from Leverkusen to London. Speculation of a transfer fee in the region of £75m is being spread through the papers.
With odds of 6/4 at best price that’s a 40% implied probability that Bundesliga starlet will follow in the footsteps of his fellow countryman Werner and join Frank Lampard at Chelsea.
Chelsea have now overtaken Bayern Munich as favourites to attract the Bayer Leverkusen youngster however, they are still in the running being offered as short at 6/4 but available at 13/5 best price.
Odds shortening could be coming as a result of plenty of speculation around the club as rumours have spilt this morning suggesting there could be a potential exit for fan-favourite Kante in order to fund the Havertz move.
The French midfielder, who boasts two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, a Europa League, and not to mention a World Cup to inflate his price tag would definitely be in the cross-hairs of a number of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Alongside the rumours surrounding Havertz, there has also been a shift in Ben Chilwell’s price as he is now odds-on to join Chelsea at 8/11, and being offered at 7/4 to stay at Leicester.

As well as their forward line the potential of adding Chilwell, who is known to be one of the best fullbacks in the league to their defence alongside ever-improving youngsters Tomori and James, could make a serious contender over the coming seasons.
