Watford are the most backed team for relegation in the last 24 hours...
The relegation battle has suddenly got very interesting after huge wins at the weekend for both Bournemouth and Aston Villa.
Bournemouth produced an incredible 4-1 victory against Leicester yesterday, and Aston Villa beat Crystal Palace 2-0.
Both sides are still heavily odds-on to go down, with the Cherries a 1/10 shot compared to Aston Villa currently priced at 1/8. Villa have only taken 10% of bets in the relgation market though, and Bournemouth even less with 9%.
This is in no doubt due to their extremely short odds which has led to neither side is receiving much support to be dropped. Rather, the three teams above them are proving far more popular.
Punters certainly think there is much better value elsewhere. Indeed, in the last 24 hours, it is Watford who have been the most backed to be relegated with 30% of bets in the market, despite beating Newcastle on Saturday.
They are a best price of 9/2 for the drop, but as short as 7/2 with some firms.
At a huge price, punters have been backing Brighton to go down too. They have taken 25% of bets in the market at a whopping 80/1.
They took a 5-0 hammering from Man City on the weekend, but now have got an easier set of games for their run-in.
They are currently five points above the drop so teams below them will need to pick up some big results whilst Brighton get hardly anything from their three remaining games.
West Ham are the other team in contention to go down to the Championship. They are a best price of 17/2 to be relegated. However, their 4-0 victory against already relegated Norwich will have eased their nerves regarding going down.
They have taken 21% of bets for the market, so punters don’t think they have their neck out of woods just yet.
They still have to play both Watford then Aston Villa on the final day of the season, which could be a thriller if both side is still battling for survival.
