The Bees are now just one point behind the Baggies in the promotion race.
Brentford are being backed to leapfrog West Brom into second place in the Championship. They’re now as short as 11/10 to finish in the top two and a best price of 13/8, having been priced at 4/1 this time last week.
Thomas Frank’s side bolstered their promotion credentials with a 1-0 win at home to Preston North End yesterday. That victory was an astonishing eighth consecutive win for the Bees, a run which has seen them put away a host of promotion rivals along the way.
Brentford are now up to third place in the Championship table, and just one point shy of West Brom in second place. As well as being a short price for a top two finish, they're now odds-on at 8/15 for promotion.
They’re also the most backed side in Oddschecker’s top two finish market of late, with 55% of bets in the last 24 hours and 45% in the last 7 days.
Leading stats site WhoScored.com revealed that star man Said Benrahma (8.30) is their highest-rated Championship player since the league returned. The in-form Algerian is being linked with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal the 7/2 favourites to sign him.
Meanwhile, second place West Brom are on the drift following draws to Blackburn Rovers and Fulham. The Baggies, who were as short as 1/10 for a top two finish this time last week, are now a best price of 4/7.
League leaders Leeds look to have all but secured their automatic promotion spot, which is reflected in their odds of 1/66.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “Brentford have been the most exciting to side to watch in the Championship since the restart, and plenty would love to see them in the Premier League next season.
“While Bees fans will be hoping they can avoid the turmoil of the play-offs, it looks like they may also have a battle to keep hold of their star performers. The Benrahma transfer market is one to keep an eye on.”
