It’s looking like Solskjaer's side will secure their place...
With just two rounds of Premier League action remaining, the race for the top four is very much coming to conclusion.
Three teams are vying for two spots, with one of Manchester United, Chelsea or Leicester set to miss out on the financial spoils of securing Champions League football.
But who is the favourite to finish in the top four? Oddschecker has recapped the market following wins for both United and Leicester last night (16/07/2019).
Who is the favourite?
Manchester United are in pole position to secure one of two remaining spots, currently priced at 1/4 to do so.
In percentage chances, that means bookies are currently predicting an 80% chance that the Red Devils are among Europe’s top teams next season.
There is another odds-on shot in the market, however, with Chelsea currently priced at 2/7 to finish in the top four in Frank Lampard’s debut season.
Have Leicester City thrown it away?
Well, not quite yet. Despite being available as short as 1/7 over the last month, Leicester City are now odds-against at 6/5.
That’s a whopping shift in percentage chance of finishing in the top four, dropping from an 87.5% chance to just a 45.5% chance.
Money has cooled for the Foxes, with just 16% of the bets in the last week backing them to secure Champions League football again.
What does WhoScored.com think?
Leading football stats site, WhoScored.com, have conducted some research into the corresponding fixtures last season.
If you took points simply from results in reverse fixtures then United, Leicester and Chelsea would all only get 3 pts each (losing one of their last 2 games).
This would leave the top four as it stands just now, with Brendan Rodgers and Frank Lampard managing in the Champions League next season.
