Bookies believe Man Utd could have a rival bidder...
Bookmakers have slashed odds on Aston Villa talisman Jack Grealish joining Arsenal this summer, following a flurry of betting activity.
Odds have been cut from 33/1 into as short as 10/3, as money continues to be placed on the prospective move. One firm is still offering 11/2 on the switch.
That’s due to the high influx of bets on Arsenal specifically, with 71% of all bets on Grealish’s next club over the last 24 hours, all backing the Gunners.
Manchester United remain the clear favourites to land the Englishman, although their price is starting to drift.
Having been as short as 1/2 just weeks ago, it’s now 1/1 that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side brings in the midfielder.
It’s 5/4 that Grealish stays at Villa Park, with Leicester the next most likely destination at 4/1. Man City follow next in the market at 5/1, then come RB Leipzig (9/1) and Tottenham (22/1).
Leading football stats site, WhoScored.com, revealed that only Kevin De Bruyne (104) made more key passes from open play than Grealish (75) in the Premier League this season.
Grealish was also the most fouled player in Europe's top five leagues this season (167); with Wilfred Zaha (120) the second most fouled.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “Despite playing a large part in keeping Aston Villa in the Premier League, it looks like their talisman Jack Grealish will be plying his trade elsewhere at the start of next season.
“The Villa skipper will no doubt be in high demand from a number of big clubs from around Europe, with Arsenal now seemingly stepping up their interest in the 24-year-old.”
