Spurs have been clipped in to 7/2 as rumours in the press gather pace.
Bookmakers have cut odds on Tottenham Hotspur making a shock move for Watford captain Troy Deeney in the summer transfer window.
Several outlets reported yesterday that the 32-year-old could be making his way to Tottenham and bookmakers have cut odds from 4/1 into 7/2, with Spurs already favourites to sign the striker.
32-year-old Deeney is said to be considering a move away from Vicarage Road, after his beloved club were relegated to the Championship. He finished the season as the Hornets’ top scorer, with 10 goals in 26 appearances.
In his post-match interview following their 3-2 defeat to Arsenal, Deeney acknowledged that it was possible that was his last game for Watford after spending 10 years at the club.
Elsewhere in the market, Burnley are priced at 6/1. They’re followed by a host of other Premier League clubs, including Crystal Palace (8/1), West Brom (12/1) and Aston Villa (14/1).
As a lifelong supporter of Birmingham City, it’s no surprise to see Blues appear somewhere in the market to sign Deeney. They’re 20/1 outsiders at this point.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “Deeney is the next name on the list of relegated players supposedly jumping ship.
“Youngster Troy Parrott’s loan to Millwall could open the door for a backup striker in Jose Mourinho’s ranks, and the veteran Watford man could be a low cost option to support Harry Kane.”
