Arsenal and Chelsea were previous favourites for Benrahma...
Brentford’s agonising play-off defeat has resulted in a host of their top players' next club odds changing, with Aston Villa now in pole position for two of their stars.
Dean Smith’s side are now clear favourites with bookies to sign standout attackers Ollie Watkins and Said Benrahma.
West Ham are third favourites for Watkins at 5/1, followed by West Brom (9/1), Fulham (10/1) and Brighton (12/1).
WhoScored.com told Oddschecker that Watkins started all 49 games available to him in the league and playoffs, missing just 10 minutes of the season.
Odds have also been cut on talisman Algerian Said Benrahma, who was previously favourite to join Chelsea and Arsenal.
Bookies have now cut odds on Aston villa snapping up the tricky forward from 9/1 into just 15/8, with money continuing to be placed on the move.
Since the final whistle went in the playoff final, 58% of all bets on Benrahma’s next club have all backed Villa.
That means Chelsea drop to second-favourites in the market at 3/1, followed by West Ham (6/1), Leeds (6/1), Leicester (10/1) and Arsenal (10/1).
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: “After their play-off heartbreak in extra-time, it seems inevitable that Brentford face yet another exodus of their best talent.
“Former Bees boss Dean Smith will undoubtedly be keen to bring Ollie Watkins and Said Benrahma to Aston Villa, but the Premier League strugglers will doubtless face stiff competition for their signatures.”
