The Blades have been cut from 8/1 into 5/2
Bookmakers have cut odds on Sheffield United signing highly touted Ollie Watkins, following a spate of bets on the move.
Following a string of support for the switch, bookies have trimmed odds from 8/1 all the way into 5/2.
That makes the Blades new second-favourites in the pursuit for the 24-year-old, with 62% of all bets within the market in the last 12 hours, all backing United.
The only team that are ahead of Chris Wilder’s side are Aston Villa, who are market leaders at 3/2.
A move to the Premier League certainly looks on the cards for the striker, with Crystal palace 6/1 third favourites to sign the Bees forward.
Brighton are available at 10/1, whilst newly promoted Leeds are around the 12/1 mark. Leicester are 16/1, followed by West Ham (20/1) and Fulham (25/1).
WhoScored.com told Oddschecker that Watkins started all 49 games available to him in the league and playoffs, missing just 10 minutes of the season.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson: "After a barnstorming season for Brentford, it's little surprise that Ollie Watkins has caught the eye of a multitude of Premier League clubs.
"However, it's looking like Chris Wilder's Blades are winning the race to sign the hitman, but with plenty of twists and turned expected in this saga, nothing has been decided."
