14 teams are shorter than 10/1...
For many, the Championship is the most exciting league in world football – and it’s easy to see why when you look at bookies’ pre-season odds.
A total of 14 different teams in the league are shorter than 10/1 to be promoted to the Premier League, in what’s set to be another unpredictable season.
But who is the favourite to get promoted from the Championship? We’ve taken a look at the odds.
Watford enter the season as the bookies’ favourites for a swift return to the Premier League, currently priced at 5/2.
That’s just a shade ahead of promotion hopefuls Brentford, who are 11/4 to do what they couldn’t this season.
Norwich didn’t enjoy an extended return to the Premier League last season but have been priced as 3/1 third favourites to return to it.
Eddie Howe-less Bournemouth are 7/2 in the market, followed by Cardiff City (11/2), Nottingham Forest (11/2) coming next.
A host of teams are available at 6/1 to go up, with the likes of Stoke City, Swansea and Derby all available at that price.
Middlesbrough are 9th favourites for promotion under Neil Warnock, currently priced at 13/2, followed by Preston North End (8/1).
At the other end of the market, Sheffield Wednesday (25/1), Rotherham (25/1) and Wycombe (66/1) round off the betting odds.
