Bookmakers have cut Leeds United to odds-on favourites to sign Valencia and Spain striker Rodrigo Moreno. Having initially been even money this morning, the best price on offer is now 10/11.
Rumours circulating in the media this morning claim the clubs could be negotiating a €35million deal for the striker after he missed Valencia’s game against Castellon.
The 29-year-old had a relatively poor season scoring only seven goals in his 34 appearances, but boasts an impressive record for club and country.
It wasn’t long ago he was said to be a target for both Barcelona and Real Madrid, but the fee Valencia were demanding back then was supposedly significantly higher.
Reports earlier this month suggested the La Liga club had now put all of their players bar one up for sale due to financial problems, leading to a host of rumours regarding their stars. They’ve already offloaded Francis Coquelin to Villareal and Ferran Torres to Manchester City.
Leeds are comfortable favourites in the market to sign Rodrigo, with their nearest rivals being Sevilla at 25/1.
